Janice Wasosky
Owner of Canton Studio
Tap & Competition Choreography
Janice has been dancing since 1957. Her entire career has been at Shirley's! She also owns Janice's Dance Studio in Wellington, Ohio. She is a graduate of Dance Masters of America Teacher Training School, an active member of Ohio Dance Masters, and also studied at Broadway Dance Center. She has two children, Don & Terri along with her dog Apache! Janice also loves horses and reading.
Terri Vasickanin
Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Acro & Competition Choreography
Terri has danced at Shirley's since age 3. She studied at Dance Masters, Broadway Dance Center, & Kent State University as well as being certified in Acrobatic Arts. Terri has been teaching for 35 years at Shirley's & Janice's Dance Studio. She is married to her husband Vince and LOVES the Cleveland Indians!
Kristen Ramey
Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Contemporary, & Competition Choreography
Kristin started dancing at age 6. She studied at Broadway Dance Center, Dance Masters, as well as many other workshops. She has been teaching for 30 years, including a biannual Pointe production for our annual recital! Kristin enjoys reading and spending time with her husband Rob, and two children Isabella & Liliana. Along with teaching at both Shirley's locations, she works as an aide in the Plain Local School System.
Sam Miller
Rhythm & Tumbling & Acro
Sam has been dancing at Shirley's at the age of 4 and danced for 25 years! She started helping with classes at age 14, and has been teaching or helping since. She has teaches at both Shirley's locations as our Rhythm & Tumbling teacher. She also works at the Canton Repository.
Allyson Sitler
Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, & Jazz
Allyson started dancing at Shirley's when she was 3 years old, along with a variety of dance workshops such as Excel in Motion and Dance Masters of Ohio. She studied Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Jazz, & Tap. She danced competitively with Take the Stage for 4 years. Allyson currently teaches Ballet, Lyrical, and Jazz. She lives in Hartville with her husband Caleb.
Elise Wilson
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, & Hip Hop
Elise has 15 years of dance training under her belt. Three of those 15 years, she competed with Take The Stage dance team. She has been teaching at Shirley's School of Dance for three years. She has attended multiple workshops too expand her dance knowledge. Her hobbies inclued Art, Music and Reading.
Paula Burns
Owner of North Industry Studio
Baton, Acro, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, & Kickline
Paula has been associated with Shirley's her entire life, owning and operating the North Industry studio for over 40 years. She currently teaches Baton, Acro, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and choreographs Kickline/Finale for Shirley's annual recitals. She is an active member of Ohio Dance Masters, Dance Masters of America, and is also certified in Acrobatic Arts.
Pamela Susco
Jazz, Tap, Acro, & Competition Choreography
Pam grew up dancing at Shirley's since the age of 3 studying Jazz, Tap, Acro, Ballet & Baton. Currently, she teaches at both studio locations, for our recreational dancers & competition team. Her competitive numbers have earned top awards at regional and national competitions. She has attended classes in NYC at Broadway Dance Center and locally with Dance Masters of Ohio & YSU. She also teaches Tap and Tumbling in Dover, Ohio at Tuscarawas Dance Arts Center. She resides in Canton with her husband Brian!
Shannon Salisbury
Adult Tap
Shannon has been dancing since she was 3, and has taught all styles of dance. She Currently teaches at Shirley's, 8 Count Performing Arts Academy, Studio 136 Dance Center, & Compass Dance Academy. Shannon also has a dance team for Fairless High School!

Cassie Muller
Ballet, Lyrical, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Acro, Hip Hop, & Competition Choreography
Cassie has been dancing for 18 years. She grew up dancing at Shirley's North Industry then went to Shirley's North Canton to start dancing competitively. She danced for Take The Stage Competition Team for 7 seasons. Upon graduation from Sandy Valley High School in 2013, she attended Kent State University to major in Criminology and Justice Studies with a concentration in Crime and Deviance and minor in Psychology and Dance. Cassie graduated from Kent State in 2016 and continued her studies at the University of Akron School of Law. She is currently a 3L anticipating graduation in Spring 2019. Throughout school, Cassie has stayed active in dance by teaching at both Shirley's studios, Cuyahoga Falls Dance Center, and the Infinite Legacy Project in the Akron After School Program. She has appeared on stage at Kent State in the shows Dance '13 This Time, Dance '14 In Flow, and Dance '15 Moving Parts. Cassie lives with her fiance, Zendell and her kitty, Nuna and dog, Duncan.
Sarah Selinsky
Tap & Ballet
Sarah has been dancing since she was 3 until she graduated high school, off and on, totaling eight years of classes. She competed for two years with Take the Stage. She has been teaching for two years at Shirley’s and was also an assistant teacher for two years. Along with her main classes being taken at Shirley’s, she was also in the Glenoak dance program during high school. She also works at the U-Haul repair garage during the day. Sarah has one daughter, Caydance, who takes lessons at both our locations. In her spare time, she also enjoys hiking with her dog and Caydance, binging Netflix shows, shopping, going to local music shows and some sewing here and there. Sarah is also a HUGE fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Harry Potter.
Erika Gilbride
Ballet, Acro,
Erika graduated from the University of Akron and received her B.A. in Dance with a Business cognate. She started dancing at Shirley's School of Dance when she was eight, and loved it from the start. Erika did everything she could get her feet into; Acro, Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Baton, Hip-Hop, Stretch and Leap class, Kickline. Erika loves teaching kids of all ages, and has Choreographed for local organizations. She also choreographed for Spring into dance in 2017 and 2018. Erika wants to own her own dance studio someday and help others find their passion for dance. She has also worked with Kora Radella (choreographer and a co-artistic director of BOOMERANG) for one of the past University of Akron Dance Company performances. That was a great experience for her and she hopes to use it in her further career.
